In the run-up to this year’s Dublin Web Festival, we decided to check in with some of last year’s winners to get an idea of what they’ve been up to since the festival!
Argentinian film-maker Güido Simonetti, winner of last year’s Best Drama and Green Curtain Award for his web-series ANA, spoke to us about what he’s currently working on and how he enjoyed Dublin!
Dublin Web Fest: Hey Güido! For anyone who doesn’t know you, could you tell us a bit about yourself?
Güido: I’m 41 years old and I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I’m an actor who started to produce and direct his own things. One year ago, I created “Intuitive Series”, a new concept for web series, where the viewer becomes the star. It’s an interactive concept, where at the end of each episode the viewer can choose how the story goes on. ANA was my first Intuitive Series.
DWF: And are you currently working on any projects?
Güido: Yes, I’m filming the 5th Intuitive Series at the moment. And I have a schedule for 2017: 1 Intuitive Series per month.
DWF: Did you enjoy your time at the Dublin Web Fest last year?
Güido: Dublin was one of those cities that I’ve always wanted to visit, so when I heard I had 4 nominations at the Dublin Web Fest, I didn’t doubt it.
It was my first Web Fest outside Argentina, and it was amazing! Not just for the experience and meeting new people but also the networking, learning new things about Web Series, I could see what are they doing in different countries, meeting other Directors, producers… It was everything positive! If anyone does Web Series, Dublin Web Fest is a must.
